President’s Message – January 6, 2020
Prof. Dr. Maria Müller Staub (PhD, EdN, MNS, RN, FEANS)
I hope you enjoyed the holiday with family and friends and now we can look forward to an exciting 2020! January is the door to the year and an opening to new beginnings.
At our last board meeting in Rome in December, the two working groups presented their goals and preparations for the eHealth Workshop in St. Pölten on March 20, 2020 http://www.acendio.net/congresses-events/ We are sure you will enjoy being there – so don’t forget to register now. If you participated at the last ACENDIO Conference in Falun, your membership was included, and you can join for the membership fee.
We also welcome you to sign up for the Jubilee Dinner that will take place in the City Hotel St. Pölten with fine Austrian food and music http://www.acendio.net/registration-1-st-biennial-workshop-paypal/
Supporting evidence-based implementation of Standardized Nursing Languages (SNLs) into practice and Electronic Health Records (EHRs) is the topic of Working Group 1.
Supporting education by the development of a guideline on the implementation of Standardized Nursing Languages (SNLs) into education is the topic of Working Group 2.
We are renewing the ACENDIO constitution and will present it to you for approval at the General Assembly on March 20, 2020. What a date to also welcome new honorary members and enjoy ACENDIOs 25th Anniversary!
We reviewed the strategic plan and linked the vision for this biennium to the budget – both will be presented to you on March 20, 2020. ACENDIOs financial situation is stable so we plan to renew the website / database and to offer another research grant.
The eHealth paper ‘Nursing and eHealth: A Mixed Method Study to Identify Outcome Criteria for Clinical Practice’ is now published on our website and on other platforms. It’s the product of many years work and summarizes the eHealth workshops of the former two biennia:
We thank the Italian Nurses Association – called Ordine Professioni Infermieristiche di Roma – for having provided us a nice meeting room, fine lunch and warm hospitality. As their location is close to the Vatican, we enjoyed its seasons decorations and fine Italian food during our meeting in Rome.
Now it is time for an exciting New Year! Envision your new aim; dream new dreams; enjoy new achievements. Forget the disappointments; highlight your successes; and Move towards Excellence!!
Wishing you and your families a Happy and Healthy New Year and looking forward to see you in St. Pölten!
Maria Müller Staub
